About 410 Upper Jenny Brook Road, Across stream from Lundy Rd
Panorama views of the mountain tops in the Vernooy Kill State forest are possible with cutting of trees needed to open up the view. Privacy surrounded by Tolkien's primordial enchanted forest balanced on a hillside above the waterfall of the Vernooy Kill class A trout stream. NY City and State land protects this on three sides with the Vernooy Kill State forest across the stream. A large private estate is on the fourth side. The waterfall and pools are on the Vernooy Kill stream at the north east boundary of the property, with about 250 feet of stream frontage. Waterfall is down the hill from the house site, quite a hike. The south property once Dutchess Quarry is now protected NY State and NY City land. The waterfall is easily accessible by walking down the hill from the house site or by driving in on Lundy Road with an easy parking lot on state parkland at the other side of the Vernooy Kill stream. Enjoy the crystalline cold water blue pool. Fishing along the stream is world class.
The abandoned road bed of the Upper Jenny Brook Road runs the length of the property on its upper (south) hillside. The property begins just past the neighbor's house and shed on the cul-de-sac. Enter at the large tree with blazed bark also near the utility pole #K28723. The electric line follows the same roadbed route with a pole #K28721 approximately at the far southeast corner of the property. Refer to the photographs to view the roadbed and electric poles. The most likely position for a home is on a narrow terraced step just below the old roadbed, accessed from a driveway to be cut in from the southwest corner of the property off of the cul-de-sac. The house would be stunning if cantilevered off of the terrace to emphasize the topography and assure the distant views are enjoyed. The septic system will need to be nearby in a another flat area on a step in the topography just below the house site. Refer to aerial plan attached in 'Associated Documents' for clarification with possible driveway, house, septic areas noted.
